About the Pickup Truck versus Bicycle Accident
This was a pickup truck versus a bicycle accident. The driver of the car that caused the accident was driving a 2014 Ford F250.
There were no adverse road conditions, and the accident happened when the driver failed to see our client.
After the accident, our client suffered a fractured clavicle, a laceration to his head, and broken ribs as a direct result of the car accident. Our client was transported via El Dorado County Medic Unit No. 3 to Sutter Roseville Hospital, where he underwent treatment for his injuries.
The driver of the car that caused the accident was insured by Geico.
Case Facts
Our client needed ongoing medical treatment after the case, including physical therapy. At first, Geico was not willing to make any offers based on the information they initially had.
Our client missed a significant amount of work and was charged large medical bills from this accident. Based on this information, he reached out to GJEL Accident Attorneys to see if he was entitled to compensation and to have his questions answered. He wanted to know:
- Who is responsible for my medical bills?
- How will I pay these bills and the loss of work?
- What if I have permanent lifelong damage to my body?
The staff at GJEL were able to quickly evaluate the case over the phone.
Based on the serious injuries from this accident and the mounting medical bills, our client decided to retain GJEL Accident Attorneys to help get his life back on track after this tragic accident.
The staff at GJEL started a full investigation which started with getting the police report from the El Dorado CHP. The police report showed that the other driver was 100% at fault and responsible for the accident.
At first, the party at fault’s insurance company, Geico, based upon limited information, was not willing to make an offer. As the firm continued to collect evidence and file a lawsuit, the insurance company took a second look at the evidence and agreed during litigation to enter into a settlement.
Attorney Jim Larsen helped our client through this difficult time and ultimately was able to settle this case without litigation. This case took approximately six months to settle without filing a lawsuit. In the end, our client was awarded $467,500 for this accident by Geico company after aggressive representation
