On August 11, 2022, at 8:02 a.m., our client was driving down Alpine Ave. at its intersection with Sutter St. in the city of Stockton, county of San Joaquin. He was obeying the rules of the road driving his 2014 Harley Davidson when another driver hit our client, causing a serious car accident. The accident resulted in loss of work, serious injuries, and large medical bills leaving our client in a state of uncertainty.
About the Accident
This was a two-vehicle accident that resulted in serious injuries for our client due to the other driver’s negligence. The driver of the car that caused the accident was driving a 2016 Toyota Highlander.
There were no adverse road conditions.
After the accident, our client suffered from severe back pain and dental injuries as a direct result of the car accident. Our client was transported via ambulance to San Joaquin General Hospital where he underwent treatment for his severe back pain and lacerations.
The driver of the car that caused the accident was insured by Nationwide, while our client was insured by Farmers Insurance.
Case Facts
Our client needed ongoing medical treatment after the accident including wound treatment and physical therapy. At first, Nationwide was not willing to pay for our client’s medical bills and other damages.
Our client missed a significant amount of work and was charged large medical bills from this accident. Based on this information he reached out to GJEL Accident Attorneys to see if he was entitled to compensation and to have his questions answered. He wanted to know:
- Who is responsible for my medical bills?
- How will I pay these bills and the loss of work?
- What if I have permanent lifelong damage to my body?
The staff at GJEL were able to quickly evaluate the case over the phone and have an attorney meet him at his home.
Based on the serious injuries from this accident and the mounting medical bills, our client decided to retain GJEL Accident Attorneys to help get his life back on track after this tragic accident.
The staff at GJEL started a full investigation which started with getting the police report from the Stockton Police Department. The police report showed that the other driver was 100% at fault and responsible for the accident.
At first the party at fault’s insurance company, Nationwide was not taking full responsibility for the damages caused by the wrongdoer. As the firm continued to collect the evidence and report the treatment to the insurance company, they changed their mind before GJEL had to file a lawsuit.
Attorney Andrew Gillin helped our client through this difficult time and ultimately was able to settle this case without litigation. In the end, our client was awarded $100,000 for this accident by Nationwide company after aggressive representation and without having to file a lawsuit.
