Stockton, CA – A devastating accident occurred on Tuesday, claiming the life of a 52-year-old bicyclist after being struck by a semi-truck.
The collision took place on Mariposa Road, just to the east of Highway 99, as reported by the Stockton Police Department. The unfortunate incident has left the community and the victim’s family in shock and grief.
The Fatal Collision
The tragic accident transpired around 4:40 p.m. on March 28, at the intersection of Mariposa Road and Stagecoach Road in Stockton.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear, but the Stockton Police Department has confirmed that the semi-truck hit the cyclist, causing him to suffer fatal injuries. Unfortunately, the 52-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
Ongoing Investigation and Road Closure
Following the collision, law enforcement officials temporarily closed Mariposa Road in both directions to thoroughly investigate the incident. The road has since been reopened. As the investigation continues, it remains uncertain whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the tragic event.
