Accident Overview
On May 26, 2017, at 10:21 am, the husband of our client stopped his car on Isabelle Ave, 165 feet South of Kitty Hawk Road in Livermore, CA, Alameda County. He stepped outside of his car to smoke a cigar. Another driver, driving a 2006 Lincoln Navigator lost control of her vehicle and caused the death of our client’s husband by smashing into him and his vehicle.
About the Accident
This was a two-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of our client’s husband. The driver of the car that caused the accident claimed that another vehicle had caused the accident and that she had witnessed it.
The attorneys at GJEL Accident Attorneys were certain that this was not true and ultimately proved it. The weather was clear and there were no adverse road conditions. There was no reason for this to happen other than the negligence of the driver that caused the accident. It turned out that the person who caused the accident was uninsured.
Our client and her husband were insured with State Farm Insurance. Our client’s husband was transported by Paramedics Plus Ambulance to Eden Medical Center. Sadly, he died shortly upon arrival.
Case Facts
GJEL Accident Attorneys was contacted by the widow of the deceased who had many questions. She wanted to know:
- Who is responsible for my medical bills?
- How will I pay these bills?
- Am I entitled to uninsured motorist coverage from my own insurance company?
Attorney Andy Gillin was able to quickly evaluate the case over the phone and invited this grieving woman to come to the office whenever she felt she was up to dealing with these details. She was reassured that there was no hurry and that she should take her time.
The staff at GJEL Accident Attorneys started a full investigation which began with ordering the Livermore Police Department report and photographs and continued with the work of our in-house investigator. The deceased client was driving a 2014 Mercedes Benz C250 and was out of his vehicle, standing next to the car at the time of the tragic accident.
Andy Gillin took approximately four months to settle this case for the uninsured motorists with maximum policy limits of $250,000.
