This weekend, Bridgestone’s “Teens Drive Smart” campaign will be at the Alameda Point Naval Air Station on Saturday, September 22nd and Sunday, September 23rd. The free half-day program is designed to help teens and young adults recognize the potential dangers of driving as well as develop the skills needed to cope with those challenges. Sessions combine classroom instruction with hands-on driving exercises built to teach defensive driving skills and reinforce smart decision making.
The program is intended for anyone between the ages of 15 and 21, and will include curriculum designed to help teens:
- Define and identify distracted driving behaviors
- Identify the dangerous driving situations caused by distracted driving
- Develop a base understanding of driving principles
- Understand the relationship between distraction and reaction time
Advanced registration is required, and sessions begin at 8:30 am and 1:00 pm both days. You can register for the event by going to www.teensdrivesmart.com and clicking on ‘Driving Experience.’
