One of the aspects of my job that I like the best, is interacting with other legal bloggers across the country and here in the Bay Area. But one of the major drawbacks of blogging is that those connections can feel hollow: rather than discussing a particular issue with a person, for example, it can feel like you’re debating with a screen name or webpage.
I’m thankful that the internet has made it possible to speak to other legal bloggers across the country from the comfort and convenience of my office. But there are times when I want to meet the names on my Google Reader face to face. Santa Clara University professor Eric Goldman has assembled a few meetups of Bay Area Blawgers over the past few years. And Kevin O’Keefe’s blog has promoted Beer for Bloggers in different cities across the US. From all accounts I’ve heard and read, these events have been well received and succeeded at putting human faces on familiar local bloggers.
On Thursday June 3 at 6 pm, I hope you will meet me at Thirsty Bear Brewery in San Francisco’s SOMA neighborhood to grab a post-work beer and talk about… well… anything. Here are the details:
Date: Thursday June 3

Location: Thirsty Bear Brewery (quick walk from Montgomery St. BART Station)
661 Howard Street
San Francisco, CA 94105-3915
